Nov 7, 2026 – Jan 11, 2027, only on weekends, holidays and the New Year period. 6:00–9:00pm (last entry 8:30pm). General ¥1,500 from Nov 7; elementary/junior-high ¥500; preschool free.

Nov 6, 2026 – Jan 4, 2027, lit 5:00–11:00pm at AMU Plaza in front of Kagoshima-Chuo Station. The page does not mention an admission fee.
Kagoshima Christmas Market 2026
Dec 4–25, 2026 at AMU Plaza, 12:00–10:00pm (until 11:00pm on Fri and Sat). Food booths (e.g. rotisserie chicken, hot wine) and Christmas goods.
Amami no Sato Night Garden 2026

- Venue: Oasis Care Yoshino Park (Kagoshima Prefectural Yoshino Park). Open days: Nov 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 · Dec 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 24–30 · Jan 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, 11. It may be cancelled in bad weather.
- Tickets (regular price from Nov 7): General ¥1,500 · high school/university ¥1,300 · elementary/junior high ¥500 · preschool free. The event site lists paper tickets (at the venue entrance and some counters), LINE and Rakuten Travel e-tickets.
- Getting there: Nangoku Kotsu route buses run from Kagoshima-Chuo Station and Tenmonkan; a special return bus leaves Yoshino Park at 7:30pm and 9:00pm via Kagoshima Station and Tenmonkan to Kagoshima-Chuo Station West Exit (plus 8:00pm and 9:00pm route buses from Dec 24 to Jan 3). By car it is about 15 minutes from Route 10, but the organizer expects crowds and asks visitors to take the bus.
Local tip: it is outdoors in winter and the open days are limited, so check the calendar on the official site first and dress warmly.

- Senganen Chrysanthemum Festival (Sengan-en): Nov 1–30, 2026, throughout the garden. Hours and fee were not on the listing — see our Sengan-en guide and the official page.
- Tenmonkan Gurutto Festa 2026: Saturday Nov 28, 10:00am–5:00pm, free, around Tenmonkan Piramall, Tenmonkan Honmichi and the G3 arcade (organized by the Kagoshima Chamber of Commerce youth division).
- 37th Satsuma-yaki Festa: Dec 2–6, 2026 at Kakuix (Kagoshima Prefectural Citizens' Exchange Center) — a Satsuma ware (local pottery) event. Hours and fee were not listed.
- Kagoshima City Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries Festival: Sunday Nov 22, 2026, 10:00am–3:00pm (held in rain), around the main building of Kagoshima City Urban Agriculture Center in Inuzako-cho — local produce, sweet potato digging, flower arranging. Check the official page for access and parking.
- Minato-odori Park illumination (Kagoshima City): Dec 1, 2026 – Jan 31, 2027, 6:00–10:00pm (until 12:15am on Dec 24 and 31), per the city's "Shimin no Hiroba" November 2026 issue. No admission fee is listed.
- SHIROYAMA winter light-up (SHIROYAMA HOTEL kagoshima): Nov 14, 2026 – Feb 14, 2027, 5:00–11:00pm. If you only want to see the lights, the hotel says to take its shuttle bus and get off at the 1F banquet entrance. No price is listed on the official page — ask the hotel.

- Hours and fees for the Minato-odori Park and SHIROYAMA light-ups are not fully listed on the official pages we checked. Confirm with the organizers before you go.
- For KAGOSHIMA CENTRAL ARC and the Christmas Market, opening-day times and per-booth hours (food vs. goods) can differ from the usual hours — confirm on the JR Kagoshima City site.

Evening trips: trams and buses
- AMU Plaza is right at Kagoshima-Chuo Station, so the CENTRAL ARC lights and the Christmas Market are an easy add-on to any day.
- For LUMI Satsuma, plan your return in advance: the last special bus we saw listed leaves Yoshino Park at 9:00pm.
